Biography
Deborah began playing the guitar 40 some years ago. She also plays the keyboard, piano, mandolin and harmonicas. She graduated from Seton Hill College and began teaching guitar lessons at the local community college in 1995, giving her 25 years experience teaching children through seniors. She has developed courses for beginners, intermediate, and advanced and tailors her lessons to the needs and abilities of her students.
She is an animal lover and shares her home with her two dogs. She has a big heart for special needs animals and cared for her shepherds when they were stricken with cancers, degenerative myelopathy, and much more. She provides therapeutic entertainment to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, etc, which was inspired by her dog Trouble 15 years ago.
She has written and recorded songs which can be found on YouTube and her music site at www.deborahkaz.bandcamp.com. Her most popular songs are the ones she has written about animal abuse, animal rescue, and a mother/son wedding song that she wrote for her son's wedding. Her song "Where Did You Go? (Animal Rescue Song)" was used in a commercial that was aired on three Pittsburgh television stations.
